Cross Tables

Cross table concepts

A cross table is defined to be the table that expands from combining two independent definitions, the rows definition and the columns definition. The rows definition may be either categorical or quantitative, while the columns definition is allways categorical. The cells of the table are each the intersection between the row and the column to which they belong. The rows of the table are considered to be the main variable of the the table - ie. the columns are merely a sequence of filters to the row variable. However the arrangement of the cross table facilitates analysis across the columns to be performed. Horizontal percentages, indexes, tests and other statistics may be calculated and displayed.
